Bestselling author and illustrator Lauren Child has been working on her own dolls’ house for 30 years. The miniature construction techniques she learned as a child continue to inform her illustration practice today.

This exhibition shows Child’s recently completed dolls’ house to the public for the first time, alongside original sets made for the critically acclaimed The Princess and the Pea, a book illustrated with three-dimensional miniature sets.

The exhibition explores the way that Child’s inimitable collage techniques for series such as Charlie and Lola reference the experience of playing with and making her dolls’ house.
