Developing art and design skills is vital for children of all ages, but it’s not always easy for busy teachers to support this. All our free Key Stage 2 resources are designed specifically to make it easier for teachers to support this crucial development of their pupils’ skills and confidence.
Below, you'll find six accessible, hands-on activities with step-by-step instructions and examples, alongside skills-building resources to support them. These tried-and-tested resources combine to provide teachers with simple but effective ways to use illustration to teach curriculum subjects including English, PSHE, humanities and science.
These resources were developed by illustrators Sion Ap Tomos, Merlin Strangeway and Toya Walker as part of a four year project with three primary schools in Islington, funded by Children and the Arts. Resources designed by Toya Walker.
