This LGBTQ+ History Month we’re sharing a video all about Tom of Finland’s homoerotic comics.

Hear all-round Tom of Finland expert Durk Dehner and all-round comics expert Paul Gravett talk all things Tom, from his comics of the 1940s to his more explicit works created after censorship laws changed.

About the speakers:

Durk Dehner is the President of the Tom of Finland Foundation which he co-founded with Tom of Finland himself. He co-curated our 2020 exhibition Tom of Finland: Love and Liberation.

Paul Gravett is a curator, lecturer, journalist and broadcaster whose work appears in The Guardian, The Times, The Independent, The Daily Telegraph and The Times Literary Supplement. He co-curated two House of Illustration exhibitions: Posy Simmonds: A Retrospective in 2019 and Comix Creatrix: 100 Women Making Comics in 2016.
