Head of Press and Marketing

House of Illustration is seeking a Head of Press and Marketing. Reporting to the Director this role has overall responsibility for devising and implementing the organisation's communications strategy, including all press and marketing. It is an important post in a busy and dynamic team that will involve varied work in collaboration with colleagues across a range of areas. The post holder will be responsible for communication strategies for individual exhibitions and events but also for the way in which the organisation as a whole is perceived publicly.

The successful candidate will be a motivated self-starter with enthusiasm, commitment and creativity, as well as having the willingness to take on responsibilities both small and large, meticulous attention to detail and an interest in the arts. They will be able to operate at a senior level, and be comfortable communicating with and influencing senior journalists, partners and House of Illustration trustees.

Finance and Operations Assistant

House of Illustration is seeking an enthusiastic, diligent and motivated individual to join us as Finance and Operations Assistant. This is a new part time role reporting to the Head of Finance It would ideally suit someone with experience of working in a finance support role with accounting experience, strong numeracy and administration skills and meticulous attention to detail.

The post holder will be able to efficiently administrate all finance procedures including processing purchase invoices, supporting the weekly payment run and annual financial audit. They will also provide support for House of Illustration’s retail operation by carrying out stock adjustments and coordinating stock takes.

An ideal candidate will have excellent Excel skills, experience of using double-entry accounting systems and the ability to identify opportunities for system improvements. They will be comfortable working in a small and busy open plan office, with the ability to plan and prioritise to meet multiple deadlines and have a flexible approach to working.

An interest in working within the arts, cultural and charity sectors would be an advantage.

Chair of Trustees

House of Illustration is seeking a new Chair to lead its board and support the director to deliver the organisation’s ambitions and the next stage of its growth.

The successful candidate will possess a strong interest in the cultural and creative sector, have experience of implementing a significant level of organisational change as part of an executive or non-executive role, and have a good understanding of governance, as well as the skills, intellect and stature to be an effective Chair of a high-calibre board.

Above all, the Chair needs to have the ability to act as an advocate and an ambassador for HOI across a diverse range of senior stakeholders and take an active role in developing a highly effective fundraising function to support House of Illustration’s core activity.
