Frequently asked questions about our illustration courses and masterclasses for adults.

Before contacting us, please check if we've already answered your query below! Due to the extremely high volume of enquiries we receive, the quickest way for you to get an answer is to check these frequently asked questions.

Do you offer concessionary rates for courses/masterclasses?

We do offer concessionary rates for our masterclasses for students, jobseekers, disabled participants and over 65s.

We do not offer concessionary rates for courses.

Can I attend this course/masterclass if I am under 18?

Unfortunately not. All participants must be 18+.

Is this course/masterclass suitable for beginners?

Most of our courses and masterclasses are suitable for a range of skill and experience levels, unless otherwise stated on the specific event page.

Are there breaks? Is tea and coffee provided?

Masterclasses include a break for participants to go out for refreshments – there are lots of places nearby. Courses include a break with tea and coffee provided.

I have booked a ticket but only received a PayPal confirmation. Am I actually booked on to the course/masterclass?

Yes you are. Your PayPal receipt is confirmation of your booking.

The course/masterclass I want to book is sold out. Can I be added to a waiting list?

We are unfortunately unable to operate waiting lists.

Most of our courses run at least once a year and our masterclasses are often repeated once every year or two.

I have bought a place on this course/masterclass for someone else. What should I do?

Please send your name, the name and email address of the person you have booked for and the name of the course/masterclass to education@houseofillustration.org.uk.

Do I need to bring anything to this course/masterclass?

Any materials needed are specified in the event description. The majority of materials are provided by House of Illustration.

Can I get a refund?

We are unfortunately unable to offer refunds.

You are however welcome to give your place to someone else. Please send your name, the name and email address of the person you are giving your place to and the name of the course/masterclass to education@houseofillustration.org.uk.

I can no longer attend the course/masterclass. Can I transfer my ticket to a different course/masterclass?

Unfortunately we are not able to transfer tickets to other courses/masterclasses.

You are however welcome to give your place to someone else. Please send your name, the name and email address of the person you are giving your place to and the name of the course/masterclass to education@houseofillustration.org.uk.

Do you offer online courses?

Unfortunately we do not currently offer any online courses.

Are you accessible?

Our shop, galleries, toilets and education studio are all fully wheelchair-accessible. If you have any other access requirements, please get in touch.
