Join author and illustrator Helen Ward and art director Nghiem Ta for this special one-off event for illustrators both published and unpublished.
Delivered in partnership with the Society of Children’s Books Writers and Illustrators, this afternoon masterclass will introduce you to non-fiction illustration, walk you through the processes to do it successfully and allow you to receive feedback on your work from industry professionals.
Non-fiction illustration has a long history and encompasses a wide variety of styles and techniques. The clarity of illustration has always made it a natural bedfellow for non-fiction and contemporary forms are more exciting than ever, bringing science, biography, technology, art and difficult topics together. Don’t miss this unique opportunity to find out if this kind of work might be for you.
Participants are also invited to take part in an optional challenge to create a double-page spread.
