Intermediate Guide to Drawing with Merlin Strangeway

A brand new course now on offer due to overwhelming demand.

When, Where

This brand new course is now on offer due to overwhelming demand! Designed especially to help students move on to the next stage after our beginners’ course, it’s also perfect for those feeling a bit rusty and looking to get back in to drawing or those with some prior experience wanting to expand their skills.

Merlin’s structured approach will guide you through six key principles of drawing using six different media. Examining a variety of approaches and artists’ work for both inspiration and instruction, we will work on finding ways to draw that suit you.

Week 1: Ways of Seeing (Graphite, Conte & Charcoal)

Week 2: Line Drawing (Ink)

Week 3: Mass Drawing (Acrylics)

Week 4: Rhythm: Variety and Unity (Watercolour)

Week 5: Proportion (Collage)

Week 6: Composition (Mixed Media)

Materials will be provided but students are also welcome to bring any favourite materials and a sketchbook.
