Adult Masterclass: Graphic Novel Your Life (A One Day Introduction)

A one day workshop to help you develop ideas for a graphic novel based on your personal experiences.

When, Where

Join acclaimed graphic novelist Rachael Ball for an inspiring one-day workshop to help you develop ideas for a graphic novel based on your own personal experience or your family history.

Using drawings and notes, we will work on developing an initial idea into a satisfying plot. Together, we will imagine and structure your graphic novel, plan and develop the essential characters and create a visual storyboard of key points.

Rachael’s own autobiographical graphic novels and those of other authors and illustrators will provide inspiration. You’ll leave with an action plan of next steps to enable you to realise and create your personalised graphic novel.

All materials will be provided, but feel free to bring a sketchbook, notebook, any favourite drawing materials and any ideas you have.

About the tutor:

Rachael Ball is an acclaimed graphic novelist, whose debut The Inflatable Woman (Bloomsbury) was listed by the Observer as one of “the best graphic books for 2015.” Her latest publication Wolf (SelfMadeHero) has been described by Pipe Dream Comics as “a timeless classic.”
