What’s happening now

An update on our programmes now that our King’s Cross building is permanently closed.

House of Illustration’s building at 2 Granary Square, King’s Cross, is now permanently closed but we’re continuing our work online and offsite until we reopen in 2022 as the Quentin Blake Centre for Illustration in Islington.

Courses and masterclasses

Our illustration courses and masterclasses for adults are taking place online and booking is now open for next term – subscribe to our newsletter and follow us on Twitter and Instagram to hear when new courses and masterclasses are announced.

Families

Instead of running in-person workshops for families, we are offering a range of free family activities online – subscribe to our newsletter and follow us on Twitter and Instagram to hear when new ones are released.

Exhibitions

Until we reopen as the Quentin Blake Centre for Illustration in London in 2022, our exhibitions will be on tour across the UK and Europe.

Touring exhibitions include Quentin Blake and John Yeoman: Fifty Years of Children’s Books, The BFG in Pictures, W.E.B. Du Bois: Charting Black Lives and Raymond Briggs: A Retrospective – subscribe to our newsletter and follow us on Twitter and Instagram for the latest dates and venues.

The closure of our building in King’s Cross means that we have sadly had to close our George Him: A Retrospective and Tom of Finland: Love & Liberation exhibitions early.

We have also postponed our Forensic Art: Illustrating Justice exhibition for when we reopen as the Quentin Blake Centre for Illustration.

Opportunities

Our annual Illustrator in Residence programme will continue – subscribe to our newsletter and follow us on Twitter and Instagram to hear when applications for our 2021 residency are announced.

The House of Illustration and Folio Society Book Illustration Competition will sadly not take place this year.

Events

Due to coronavirus-related restrictions, the House of Illustration Fair will sadly not take place this year.
