Frequently asked questions about our programme of talks, study days, live drawing nights and late openings.

Before contacting us, please check if we've already answered your query below! Due to the extremely high volume of enquiries we receive, the quickest way for you to get an answer is to check these frequently asked questions.

Do you offer concessionary rates for your events?

We offer concessionary rates for some events. Please check the specific event page to see if concessions are available.

Can I attend this event if I am under 18?

Most of our public events are for those aged 18+ only, apart from First Fridays which are open to all ages.

If you are under 18 but really want to attend a talk, please contact us in advance to check that this event is suitable for you. If you are under 16 you will need to be accompanied by an adult.

The event I want to book is sold out. Can I be added to a waiting list?

We are unfortunately unable to operate waiting lists.

The event I want to book is sold out. Will it be repeated?

Some of our events are repeated while others are one-offs.

First Fridays take place on the first Friday of every month except January, Sketchmeet takes place every two months and our Professional Development events take place once or twice a year.

Individual talks, panel discussions, symposia, study days and book signings are usually not repeated.

I have bought a ticket for this event for someone else. What should I do?

Please send your name, the name and email address of the person you have booked for and the name of the event to publicprogramme@houseofillustration.org.uk.

Do I need to bring anything to this event?

You do not need to bring anything to the vast majority of our public events. On the rare occasion you need to bring something, this will be specified on the individual event page.

Can I get a refund?

We are unfortunately unable to offer refunds.

You are however welcome to give your ticket to someone else. Please send your name, the name and email address of the person you have booked for and the name of the event to publicprogramme@houseofillustration.org.uk.

Are you accessible?

Our shop, galleries, toilets and education studio are all fully wheelchair-accessible. If you have any other access requirements, please get in touch.
